Mark
Kahles has been interested in photography since the early
1980’s. He photographs landscape, scenic/nature, and macro subjects
around the Cincinnati, Ohio tri-state area, and has had the opportunity
to explore many areas of the United States, Europe and Asia with his
camera.
Through his
work, Mark tries to present a unique perspective of the world around
him. He strives to capture the essence of his subjects, whether that is
the delicate detail in a flower’s petals, or the solemn mood of a foggy
morning. He also enjoys expressing feeling through abstract and
impressionistic images using in-camera techniques. He limits his
post-processing to techniques that would have been employed in a
traditional film darkroom.
Mark
Kahles lives in Batavia, Ohio and is past President, and current
Vice-President of the Tri-State Photographic Society. He was named Tyro
Nature Photographer of the Year there in 2007. His work is on display
in a number of venues around the Greater Cincinnati area, and is
