MARY PAULA WIGGINS

The art of M.P. Wiggins inhabits the worlds of illustration and fine art. She attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati for instruction in graphic design and illustration. She continues to learn through travel and workshops throughout the country. She has work in both private and corporate collections in the United States, Germany, Canada, and Morocco. Ms. Wiggins' latest work is concerned with the layering of images through collage, paint, and drawing materials. Her series of "Botanicals" contain pages of science textbooks from the 1930's and '40's.

My artworks are contemporary,
abstract acrylic paintings on
paper, board, and canvas.
I often use collage and stencil
techniques, layering images and
mark making with charcoal. My love
of language and music show
in my choice of materials. The torn
text from a book, discarded sheet
music, stenciled letters, all find
their way onto my surfaces.
